I may have gone a little QVC crazy recently [no regrets]. I have been having a lot of skin problems recently so I knew it was time to scrap what I had been doing and try something completely different. I have been using a hodgepodge of different products to remove my make up, cleanse, exfoliate, treat and moisturize my face. It is hella products and a lot of time. The worst part is that my skin is not fantastic from this whole process. So I had enough and I am replacing all of the current things with new and exciting items. I’ll be unboxing all of them here for you to see! This is my first post in the series and it’s the Tatcha Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum. Let’s get to it!
I love the bright colors and the bamboo fronds design going on here. I should probably talk a bit more about Tatcha as a brand. Victoria Tsai took a break from her corporate marking job and went to Japan. While there she had a chance meeting with a modern day Geisha and noticed how lovely the Geisha’s skin looked. This inspired her to research the beauty ways of the Geisha and Ancient Japan.
I have a love of all things Japanese so this naturally made me want to learn more about these products and how they could help my laundry list of problems I have with my skin. I have dry and sensitive skin mixed with hormonal breakouts and sometimes dashes of eczema. This summer my nose has decided to be oily which is new and weird and different. So there is a lot going on there and I have had allergic reactions in the past to thing I put on my face so I am always slightly afraid to deviate from what I have been using but Tatcha seemed to tick all the right boxes.
When I removed the serum from the package I saw this great information on Tatcha as a brand and their ethos which I love. I love history in all of it’s forms and I know a bit about the Edo period so I was excited to see it mentioned here. I also love that this product is a mash up of ancient and modern. This step in my new skincare routine will be my treatment step. It comes before I apply moisturizer, but after cleansing and exfoliating my face.
Here is all about the serum itself:
What is it: Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum delivers intense hydration benefits to reveal glowing, firmer-looking skin. Rich in red algae extract from the waters around Japan’s Okinawa Island, this formula also benefits from hyaluronic acid, known to hold a thousand times its weight in water. The combination of red algae and hyaluronic acid captures water to help deliver intense, replenishing moisture to the skin. Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum also contains 23K gold dust.
Who is it for: For all skin types, this serum helps to address the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothness, and firmness.
Why is it different: This serum contains an antiaging complex of sonically extracted whole plant green tea, rice bran oil, and red algae–a trio of moisturizing and antioxidant ingredients that helps fight free radical attack. It also contains royal jelly, an ingredient containing vitamin B, biotin, and folic acid. This serum was formulated without parabens, mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, urea, DEA, TEA, or phthalates.
That’s right gold flakes are part of the formula! The paper at the bottom there was what was wrapped around the serum. It has the product details on it. This is obviously a luxury product and I cannot wait to start to use it. It’s beautiful, has good ingredients and I love the brand. I’ll keep you updated on how this goes for me of course.
